Another year comes to an end. Of course it is the season for introspection, accountability and looking back. As the New Year starts, probably you are reading this in 2024, I have a short but precise piece of writing for you. The demand for this blog has been so high, and you ask, my lovelies, and I deliver!


These last few months, you have learnt a lot, I am sure. In whichever capacity, you have learnt and grown. I have also learnt and I have also grown. For you, my esteemed reader, who has loved my work, appreciated my work, supported my work and taken time to share, interact with and comment on my work, I want to say THANK YOU. ASANTE SANA!

One word that I will share: Be positive in 2024! A positive mindset is key in everything you do and has honestly been one thing that kept me going in the past year. Last year in 2022, I told you guys, to be kind to yourselves in 2023 and document your progresses. This year, I tell you, be positive in 2024, whatever comes your way, be positive.


I have found a few tips that have helped me maintain a clear and positive mindset:

1. Five good things that happened today: With this, I write, or you can just reflect on five good things that have happened in your day. It helps me maintain a clearer and healthier view of the day that was and see that regardless of the challenges, good things still happened.
2. Five things I am grateful for: With this, I focus each morning, before I start my day, on things that I appreciate, and in-turn this maintains my focus on my goals by admiring what I have achieved and what is in my life.
3. Drinking water: I drink water every day because hydration is good, and because, water is refreshing and you can never have enough water.
4. Reward system: I came across and began a reward/gift system, in which after every milestone, I get myself a gift or a reward that I really wanted. This acts as a motivational factor and also keeps my happy hormones high.
5. Walks: Daily walks in nature have helped a lot. On the days when you feel overwhelmed, because they will always be there, just take a walk, if possible in nature. The calm and serenity has a way of giving you clarity and helps you refocus and find your way back.
6. Have a positive buddy: A positive buddy is an optimistic person in your life, whom you can go to and rant to and they can remind you of the good aspects of life. If you do not have a positive buddy, I can be yours (this is me shooting friendship shots). Positive buddies are important especially when regaining that positive mindset is tough.

Please, by all means, be happy. Happiness has been the one thing that has kept me going, good vibes and lots of laughter. So, do yourself and me a favor, and just be the happiest you can in 2024! You deserve it.

2024 may not be perfect, no year is, but experience the happiness not because of the moments, but in spite of the moments. Have a happy happy new year!
